So, here is my story. My mom went to the Vegetarian festival in 2001 to meet some friends before a football game. Her friend Laura met my biological mom, Ruby, and decided to adopt her. While they were waiting for the paper work to be done on Ruby, my Mom Cindy was introduced to me and everyone talked her into adopting me. Before the festival my mom and I have an interesting story to tell. We were taken to the Louisa shelter along with 3 or 4 of my siblings, I can't remember I was so young. All of my siblings were adopted and then that left Mom and me. We were fostered by Animal Connections in 2 different homes for about 5 weeks. Mom, Ruby and I were spotted at the festival by Mom Cindy and Aunt Laura and thankfully both have wonderful homes. We were reunited after the five weeks and now we get to see each other all the time. I have 3 kitties in my family and my Mom has a kitty and another dog Louis. We both have had Rover's walking us since we got our new homes and we love them so much. So the Vegetarian festival comes along each year and I think everyone should stop by and take home a dog or cat and then they can have a happy ending just like me. Sammy! |

Sadie
| I adopted Sadie through Animal Connections at the end of last August...
she had been found in a kill shelter in Tennessee and was slated for euthanasia
when they found her (EEK!) She had a bad hip, from never having a dislocation
properly attended to, but no other health problems, and when I saw her,
first on-line, and then in front of Harris Teeter's, I knew she was for
me.
Sadie's age is a mystery, but we think she's about 6yrs old. Like any lady, she's not telling. She had very few adjustment problems, has always been well-behaved, but the most fun has been in watching her true personality come out. She's gone from quiet wall-flower to America's Next Top Model, as my friends refer to her. She is unique in her appearance, sort of Corgi, sort of Chihuahua! Happy, curious, playful, and ALWAYS hungry, she loves her best cat buddy, Booie, and dog buddies Ruby and Louis, running (after a fashion) and sniffing her way around any field, and just generally being in charge of any place she happens to be! The best part of my day is hearing her contented sigh, in the evening, as she settles onto the sofa with Boo. I know that her past is becoming a distant, faint memory. |
